Mona's Heaven for Animals - Trust run by Mrs.Kavitha Jayasselan and her family for dogs, livestock cattle's, cats and horses.

This journey started during corona pandemic period where the family started to feed community dogs and when some rescuers requested to take care of their injured dogs. An idea to begin as trust nurtured when their daughter brought an injured pup with only three legs.

Slowly they realised that there are lot of animals on road which are in desperate need of help and number of people on ground available for rescue is inversely proportional.

Initially their home at Madipakkam was being used to foster dogs who are in need of home and post recovery care. During 2021 flood their home was badly flooded and they were forced to evacuate and they decided to shift to bigger area as the dogs need play ground to have physical activity.

In 2022 the shelter was shifted to Thimmavaram, Chengelpet with around 45 dogs and 10 to 15 cows and few cats. As the count was keep on increasing there were lot of complaints from neighbourhood forcing them to evacuate the location. We really had a tough time in finding a an acre of land as not much people were animal friendly .Later in the beginning of 2024 we found an acre of land for rent near Maraimalai Nagar and infrastructure was built up over a period of six months and now we have kennels and cow sheds for our animals as much as we can .
